The Falls Retreat is located in the stunning Karangahake Gorge, which is a popular walking location between Paeroa and Waihi.
Located at 5 Waitawheta Road, Waikino, The Falls Retreat is a fantastic location for elopements and weddings, with one of the key attractions being the beauty of the local surroundings, which includes the Owharoa Falls.
There are some really cute, cosy cottage accommodation options on site, plus a restaurant with food created from scratch that is seasonality influenced (and which people travel long distances to eat it is so highly regarded). The team at The Falls Retreat are really, really lovely and will make you feel very welcome and comfortable during your elopement or wedding.

Wedding & Elopement Photography Packages at The Falls Retreat

Key Moments - $895
- This is my elopement/low key wedding option. It’s designed for couples who are keen to just capture a selection of key moments from their wedding, and have a small number of guests (under 25).
- Pre-elopement/small wedding consultation (Zoom or Teams). In this consultation I’ll talk you through what to expect, how I’ll make it easy for you, plus I’ll provide guidance on timings.
- My services as a photographer for 2 hours, covering ceremony arrival, ceremony, family and friend photos straight after, then couple photos with the time remaining.
- All the big moments will be covered from the walk down the aisle, vows, ring exchange, signing, first kiss, and the walk back down the aisle. You’ll also get photos with your guests, friends and families, and we’ll do couple photos that will make great print options.
- Online gallery of 100 pictures curated and edited by me + easy download Dropbox option. You can share the gallery with your guests and anyone who couldn’t make the day. Plus, you’ll be able to download photos direct from the gallery, and create your own favourites list.
- Three sneak peek pictures will land in your inbox within 24 hours of the ceremony ending
- Your full online gallery will be delivered within 3-5 days

Key Moments Extra - $1395
- A great option for couples who are keen to just capture a selection of key moments from their wedding, and have a small number of guests, but don’t want the build up or reception covered.
- Pre wedding consultation (Zoom or Teams). In this consultation I’ll talk you through what to expect, how I’ll make it easy for you, plus I’ll provide guidance on timings and give some tips on how to make the day amazing.
- My services as a photographer for 4 hours, covering ceremony arrival, ceremony, candid mingling, family and friend photos, then couple photos with the time remaining.
- All the big moments will be covered from the walk down the aisle, vows, ring exchange, signing, first kiss, and the walk back down the aisle. You’ll also get photos of you hanging out with your guests, some group shots (if you wish), and we’ll do couple photos that will make great print options.
- Online gallery of 150-175 pictures curated and edited by me + easy download Dropbox option. You can share the gallery with your guests and anyone who couldn’t make the day. Plus, you’ll be able to download photos direct from the gallery, and create your own favourites list.
- Three sneak peek pictures will land in your inbox within 24 hours of the ceremony ending
- A premium quality A3 print of your choice.
- Your full online gallery will be delivered within 5-7 days
Package is for Tauranga, Te Puna, Katikati, Waihi Beach, the Falls Retreat only.

Essence Package - $2,000
- Pre-wedding consultation (Zoom or Teams). In this consultation I’ll talk you through what to expect on your wedding day from a photography perspective, how I’ll make it easy for you, plus I’ll provide guidance on timings and give some tips on how to make the day amazing.
- My services as a photographer for eight hours.
- All the big and small moments will be covered from the final preparation moments, to a first look with a parent/whoever you wish, to guests arriving, to the walk down the aisle, vows, ring exchange, signing, first kiss, and the walk back down the aisle. You’ll also get photos with your guests, friends and families, and we’ll do couple photos that will make great print options. Then, you’ll reception events of your choice, such as speeches, cake cutting, and dancing (if within timeframe).
- Online gallery of 300-350 pictures curated and edited by me. You can share the gallery with your guests and anyone who couldn’t make the day. Plus, you’ll be able to download photos direct from the gallery, and create your own favourites list. And, I’ll send a Dropbox download option too as a back up.
- Mainly colour pictures, with a few atmospheric black and white options too that will look great as prints on your wall or as a screensaver.
- Each gallery photo will also have a much larger file equivalent for a better printing option.
- Your photos will also be stored on a USB that will come in a personalised wooden box.
- You’ll get heaps of candid moments, in your gallery. Plus, tell me your ‘must have photos’ of guests you haven’t seen in ages and let’s make those pictures happen.
- 2 x A3 premium quality prints of your choice from one of NZ’s most respected photography print labs.
- You’ll get five sneak peek pictures land in your inbox the day after your wedding.
- Fast turnaround full online gallery - you’ll get it within 7-9 days, or sooner.
- $100 off if the ceremony is at Omahanui Wedding and Events Venue.
Price based on the wedding being in Tauranga and the Western Bay of Plenty. Please enquire about options outside of these areas.

Classic Package - $2,750
- Location visit and meet before ceremony (if in Tauranga, Katikati, or Waihi areas), or on Zoom or Teams. In this consultation I’ll talk you through what to expect on your wedding day from a photography perspective, how I’ll make it easy for you, plus I’ll provide guidance on timings and give some tips on how to make the day amazing.
- My services as photographer for 10 hours
- All the big and small moments will be covered from preparation moments, to a first look with a parent/whoever you wish, to guests arriving, to the walk down the aisle, vows, ring exchange, signing, first kiss, and the walk back down the aisle, and everything in between. You’ll also get photos with your guests, friends and families, and we’ll do couple photos that will make great print options. Then, you’ll reception events of your choice, such as speeches, cake cutting, and dancing (if you’re into dancing!)
- Online gallery of 450-500 edited pictures curated by me. You can share the gallery with your guests and anyone who couldn’t make the day. Plus, you’ll be able to download photos direct from the gallery, and create your own favourites list. And, I’ll send a Dropbox download option too as a back up.
- Mainly colour pictures, with a few atmospheric black and white options too that will look great as prints on your wall or as a screensaver.
