Paulina Charlemont, Shoreditch, London.

A young woman with long, flowing hair sits cross-legged on a rocky surface, looking to the side with a serious expression. She wears a jacket, black jeans, and dark shoes, and her nails are painted black. The image is in black and white.

Black and white portrait of a woman with light skin, freckles, dark hair, and wearing a turtleneck, looking over her shoulder.

A woman with long dark hair, wearing a denim jacket and black pants, sitting on rock gravel against a plain wall, looking directly at the camera with a serious expression.

A note on the locations. In Shoreditch, you’ll find tourists, locals, people hard at work, and people who look cool. You’ll also find some alleyways and spots away from the main road that come with shade and a little peace and quiet (Shoreditch can be busy). Close by, you’ll find Brick Lane. At the weekend, Brick Lane is heaving with people. Word of advice, meet early if looking to take a street portrait of someone. Head to a cafe called Canvas (it’s on Hanbury Lane) for some epic vegan fries, or, to Kahalia Cafe for a slice of cake.
In the meantime, you can view more Portrait Galleries if you have a minute. Thank you to Paulina Charlemont for her support. You can view examples of her photography and her illustrations on her Context of Art page.
